Federal Court agreed to review the former police Special Action Unit (UTK) officer Azilah Hadri `s death sentence conviction for the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu.
The case will be heard by the court in April next year (on 20th April 2020), his lawyer Kuldeep Kumar told reporters today.
Yesterday Azilah Hadri claimed for the first time that Former Prime Minister Najib Razak, who was the deputy prime minister then, had ordered him to kill the Mongolian national in 2006 on the ground that she was a foreign spy and a threat to national security.
The murder occurred 13 years ago and the Federal Court upheld Azilah’s and another former UTK member Sirul Azhar Umar’s conviction and death sentence.
