Civil servant selling ketum juice arrested by police

PUTRAJAYA: A civil servant was arrested by the police for allegedly selling and distributing ketum juice.

According to Putrajaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner, A Asmadi Abdul Aziz said, the suspect, 36-year-old man was arrested at 12 midnight when he was in the lobby of a civil servant’s quarters in Precinct 9 with two bottles of ketum water.

“The results of the follow-up investigation then confiscated five more plastic bottles suspected of containing ketum water, making the total confiscated amount to 10.5 liters.

“We also found that the suspect has three past criminal records involving narcotics crimes and property crimes,” he said as quoted by Utusan Malaysia today.

The suspect was taken to IPD Putrajaya for further investigation and the case was investigated in accordance with Section 30 (3) of the Poisons Act 1952,” he said.
