KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is expected to hold four – point talks with Bersatu President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to discuss a cabinet reshuffle and the removal of two ministers.

Ismail Sabri is said to be dissatisfied with the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Duties), Datuk Dr Abd Latiff Ahmad who failed to play an effective role during the recent flood disaster.

The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) which falls under Dr Latiff’s portfolio has been heavily criticized for failing to play an effective role in coordinating rescue operations and providing assistance during flood disasters.

Apart from Abd Latiff, among other names expected to be dropped from the cabinet is the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Seri Rina Harun who was controversial when the video spread which appeared as if he was acting to clean up flooded areas that were clean.

One name from UMNO who is expected to be dropped is Unity Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique who became controversial for giving an explanation on giving an explanation to MPs on the distribution of RM100 million allocation for the Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (Mitra).

M Kula Segaran (PH-Ipoh Barat) wants Halimah Sadique to be referred to the Parliamentary Rights and Privileges Committee for creating confusion over allegations of misuse of funds from the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (Mitra).

According to Kula Halimah had told the Dewan Rakyat on Nov 17 that she would brief the MPs on the disbursement of the fund, which is aimed at the poor.

However, the briefing was not made until the Dewan Rakyat was postponed in mid -December.
