KUALA LUMPUR JUNE 1:The National Front or Barisan Nasional’s (BN) defeat in the 14th General Election (GE) 2018 had caused a drastic change in the political landscape and this should be a valuable lesson learnt as it was the first time in 60 years BN had failed to retain its power.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob who is also the Vice President of UMNO said, to ensure the 22 months of “nightmare” during which the country was ruled by the Pakatan Harapan (PH) will not be repeated, BN should work hard, be prepared and united to face the 15th GE.
“The 15th GE will be held any time from now and to maintain the victory’s rhythm, everybody should work hard and make the utmost preparations,” Ismail said in his speech at the UMNO Convention held at Merdeka Hall, Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTC) here today.
For the GE-15 preparation, Ismail suggests three work actions should be implemented and it includes all efforts done via a team, disciplined and loyal to the party in whatever difficult situation it maybe in.
“The second element is BN should win the hearts of the people. As the Prime Minister I have to ensure the policies will benefit the people besides the best services delivered to them. The government should be concern at all times, attentive to the people’s needs and implement the best initiatives and immediately solve the local problems,” he said.
The third element Ismail said is to formulate the GE15 Victory Formula .This strategy needs to focus on the strength of the general election’s machineries between the component parties.
The UMNO Vice President said in conjunction with the BN Convention, he urged the BN component parties to renew their pledges.
The pledges are for the whole of Malaysians, to be the best and to continue the struggle in dignifying the beloved country Malaysia.
“Let us all pledge strongly to strengthen cooperation between the component parties. We have to be far away from any outside influence that tries to instill split elements amongst us.
“Our pledge today is to win in the 15th GE with two-third majority seats in Dewan Rakyat, to enable us to continue the people’s aid agenda and make the country prosper.
“A strong BN government will lead to political stability in the country and economic prosperity in the ASEAN region. I thanked all the component parties in BN for supporting me to be the candidate of the tenth Prime Minister in the coming 15th GE. This had been agreed at the UMNO Supreme Council Members’ meeting and supported by all the component parties of BN,” Ismail said. –Malaysia World News
