It was a traumatic night when a bleeding robbed foreigner girl was calling for urgent help after midnight but the person manning the emergency line could not speak English.
Bangladeshi student Susmita Asad and her Indian national roommate Hetal Rajanikant Gajjar were attacked by an armed robber last night when they were walking home from work around 1.30am.
Hetal, 23, was stabbed on her chin by the robber when she started screaming for help.
Both managed to run to their house nearby and lock the door.
Susmita said, when she called the emergency number for an ambulance, the person manning the line could not speak English.
“He kept asking many questions. The difficulty in communication was taking so much time and Hetal was bleeding profusely,” she was quoted as saying by the Star.
Finally, Susmita called e-hailing service Grab. When the driver arrived, he rushed both women to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre where Hetal received 14 stitches.
