KUALA LUMPUR Feb.25: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia or Bersatu confirms that Pakatan Nasional (new coalition) has not been formed yet as the party has not discussed the matter with PAS and UMNO.

Secretary-General, Marzuki Yahya said, Bersatu thanked the two parties that have supported Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad as the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Marzuki stressed that the party focuses on the issue of Dr. Mahathir’s resignation first before dealing with other matters.

“The Bersatu Leadership Council has made a decision to pull out from Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition as it was announced by the President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin early today,” he said after Bersatu’s special meeting held at their office late this evening (Monday 24 Feb.)

Regarding Dr. Mahathir’s position as the next Prime Minister, Marzuki said, Dr. Mahathir will leave it to the Dewan Rakyat (Parliament) to decide.

Earlier this evening, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has accepted Dr. Mahathir’s resignation as the seventh prime minister but appointed him as the Interim Prime Minister until the next Prime Minister is appointed.

Marzuki added, the special meeting on Monday evening also agreed unanimously to reject Dr. Mahathir’s resignation as the Chairman of Bersatu

“The party also made a decision that all Bersatu MPs support Dr. Mahathir as the Prime Minister of Malaysia and said that there is no case of Bersatu MP pulling out from the party, instead they will face the “crisis” together,” he told reporters who have waited patiently for the outcome of the meeting.- Malaysia World News
