BERSATU drops Zuraida’s membership for joining PBM – Muhyiddin

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) has decided to drop with immediate effect the membership of the Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin following her announcement to join Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM).

BERSATU President,Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said, her membership was dropped in accordance to Article 10 of BERSATU Constitution.

Muhyiddin said, he will submit a new name to be appointed as a member of the Cabinet to the Prime Minister shortly as Zuraida’s position as a minister is under BERSATU’s quota.

“I thanked for all her contributions to BERSATU all this while,” Muhyiddin said in a statement today.

Earlier Muhyiddin said, Zuraida’s position as a BERSATU member had been discussed in the party’s Supreme Leadership Council recently.

“There was a report saying that Zuraida had been involved directly with the formation of PBM and participated in the party’s activities.

“Following that a show cause letter dated 9th May 2022 had been sent to her. Zuraida had replied the show cause via a letter dated May 23, 2022,” Muhyiddin said.

According to Muhyiddin the next action is to refer her to the party’s Disciplinary Board.
The Ampang Member of Parliament, Zuraida has earlier made her decision to join PBM.

Zuraida said, she joined PBM as it is a multi-racial party that supports women empowerment, youth empowerment, economic development, education and advancement of science and technology and makes Malaysia a developed country. –Malaysia World News
