Azmin: PKR leadership strongly supports Dr Mahathir to stay as prime minister


KUALA LUMPUR: PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali (pix) today reiterated that PKR leadership stands firmly and strongly supports Dr Mahathir to continue his leadership as prime minister, Bernama and The Sun Daily reported.

“The matter of Dr Mahathir being Prime Minister has been decided by the people in the last general election.

“Thankfully, under one year of Dr Mahathir’s leadership, we have laid the right foundation. I believe now is the time for the implementation of the policies that have been set,” he was quoted as saying at the World Statistics Congress 2019 held at Dataran Merdeka for the 5 km category here today.

Mohamed Azmin, who is also Economic Affairs Minister, said that in response to Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Abdul Karim who has called for Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to step down.

On Wednesday, Hassan had claimed that Dr Mahathir seemed to be unable to in handle today various issues, especially the three Rs – race, religion and royalty.

Azmin said Pasir Gudang MP should focus on the development of his constituency instead of making such statement.
