ATBTR emerged champion at the Football Shoot League Festival 2017

KUALA LUMPUR:  The Akademi Tunas Bandar Tun Razak (ATBTR) team under the Nationa Football Team Development Programme won the Football Shoot League Festival 2017, held at New Camp Football Field, Bandar Utama recently.

ATBTR team under 8 years old category scored a total of 34 goals. The `Inspire` from Negeri Sembilan scored 32 goals and won second place, while FCKL was placed third with 22 goals scored and six in from the opponent.

The ATBTR team that was trained by couch Shafiq Zainal did not win easily but worked very hard until it managed to reach the final game as the championship’s format required a high mental preparedness and the right tactical approach.

Three top teams at the league gathered the same points; nevertheless the team that scored the most goals and let in the least was awarded the champion of each category.  

The category under 8 years was held for the first time and it is hoped that more similar championship would be organised as it is the best platform to raise the quality of the national football from the grassroots level.

The two day league was participated by 10 teams under 8 and 10 years category while eight teams under 12 and 15 category.   

More than 600 players including the girls’ football team from Singapore and Thailand had competed under various categories at the league championship.

Meanwhile the championship gave away “The Most Valuable Footballer Award” to every team under 8 years.

The recipients were: Reyess Emir (ATBTR); Mohd. Aqimi (Inspire); Ao Miyato (FCKL); Mikael Muzaffar (Superkids); Natasya (Dream Team CFC SG); Adam Alif (BTR7); Seigo (Shoot A); Yuta (Shoot SGBKK) and Kosuke (Shoot B).
