KUALA LUMPUR: The Vice President of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Beluran, Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee has been appointed as the Bersatu Head of State Leadership Body and Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman of Sabah State Relations.

PN Chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said, Ronald Kiandee will be responsible to manage Sabah Bersatu and the state PN until the restructuring of Sabah Bersatu and Sabah PN are finalized by Bersatu Supreme Council Members and PN Supreme Council.

“I am very disappointed with the attitude of the ex-Sabah Bersatu leadership who had not shown loyalty to the party that had placed them in a high position after the Sabah State Election. More so the PN logos had been used in the past state election to achieve victories,” Muhyiddin said in a statement.

Muhyiddin who is also the MP of Pagoh released the statement following the decision of the Chairman of Sabah State Leadership, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, and his followers to quit the party.

Muhyiddin stressed that the State Leadership Body and Bersatu Divisions in Sabah were formed by the Bersatu Supreme Council Members (MPT) and only they (MPT) have the power under the party constitution to decide on their positions.

However, Muhyiddin expressed his confidence that Bersatu members in Sabah who are loyal will continue to stay under Bersatu which is a component of PN at the Federal level.

Regarding the position of four Bersatu MPs who had contested using the GRS logo in the 15th General Election, Muhyiddin said, their positions will be decided based on the anti-party hopping law under Article 49A Federal Constitution. –Malaysia Word News
