PETALING JAYA: Al Bukhary Foundation Group (Kumpulan Yayasan Albukhary) has donated RM15 million to the Palestine Humanitarian Trust Account Fund (AAKRP) to help the Palestinians who are suffering from the war in Gaza, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

AAKRP was established under the supervision of Wisma Putra, and is managed by the Foreign Affairs Ministry,  to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians affected by the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

In addition, AAKRP received a donation of RM 373,229.75 from Tabung Warga Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Prihatin.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd. Kadir said the donations were handed by Special Adviser of Kumpulan Yayasan Albukhary, Datuk Seri Abdul Aziz Shahar and Chief People Officer, Human Resources Tenaga Nasional Berhad Wahizan Abd. Raman to the Foreign Ministry, Deputy Secretary General (Bilateral Affairs), Datuk Ahmad Rozian Abd. Ghani.

“The handing over of the donation is one of the endless efforts initiated by Malaysians to help the Palestinians in whatever way. The amount collected for AAKRP is close to RM40 million.

“AAKRP was established under the supervision of Wisma Putra with the mandate to collect, coordinate, and channel the humanitarian contributions from the Malaysians directly to the Palestinians,” Zamby said in his Facebook post.

Zambry added the donation made via AAKRP is qualified to claim as income tax reduction under subsection 44(6) Income Tax Act 1967.

“I thanked the Kumpulan Yayasan Al Bukhary, Tabung Warga TNB Prihatin, and others who had donated via AAKRP. Let us pray that the conflict in Gaza could be stopped immediately, more humanitarian aids could be channeled and the rights of the Palestinians would be defended,” he said. –Malaysia World News
