Aidilfitri: 10 telcos offer free calls from 10pm May 12 till 10am May 13 to strengthen “silatulrahim” in the new norm

PUTRAJAYA MAY 12- Ten telecommunication companies (telcos) have agreed to provide free calls to all the networks in the country starting from 10.00pm of 12th May (Wednesday) until 10am of 13th May 2021- the first day of Aidilfitri.

Minister of Communication and Multimedia, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said, this is initiative is in view of the Malaysians celebrating the Aidilfitri in a new norm throughout the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

The 10 telcommunication companies that provide the free calls include Celcom, TM Unifi, Yoodo, Digi, TIME dotCom, YES, Maxis, Tune Talk, REDtone, and U Mobile.

“Every service provider will offer the free call subject to the terms and condition of each company. The customers are advised to communicate with the service provider for any question on the offer.

“I hope this small service will in a way help Malaysians to communicate and relate with their beloved family members and friends to strengthen “silatulrahim” even though visiting activity is not allowed under the MCO from 12th May until 7th June 2021,” Saifuddin said in a statement here today.

Saifuddin thanked the telecommunication companies and the Malaysians who have been cooperating and complying with the MCO to stop the transmission of COVID-19.

“Let us pray together so that the pandemic curve could be flattened with the people’s sacrifices and efforts from all parties. Insya Allah we will be able to continue our lives in a better future,” Saifuddin said. –Malaysia World News
