Affordable houses with TOD concept for young people in Astrum Ampang – PM Ismail


KUALA LUMPUR APRIL 29: “Transit Oriented Development” (TOD) is a new concept of houses to be built in Astrum-Ampang here to enable the young people to travel to their work places with easy access to public transportation and facilities.

Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the TOD houses are not only helping the young people to go to work easily but also to enable the country to achieve its target in reducing the carbon traces towards 2030 in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG30).

Ismail added, this project is able to help reduce the housing problem in the capital city areas and is in line with the Malaysian Family Aspiration.

“We know the young people who just started their career in the city are always encountering with housing problem especially to own a comfortable house that is accessible to public transportation and public facilities close to each other.

“Most of the houses built today are out of their affordability as they just started their careers.

The prices of houses are on the rise based on the current market situation. This group finds difficulty to own a house when their financial situation is weak,” said Ismail at the Groundbreaking Event of PRIMA1-Astrum, Residency Ampang here today.

Ismail emphasized that the Astrum-Ampang, is an exemplary affordable houses that is accessible to the Kelana Jaya Rail Route and LRT Ampang-Sri Petaling Route, MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang besides to be joined with MRT Sungai Buloh-Putrajaya and LRT 3.

According to the Prime Minister, Astrum- Ampang is a mixed development project that will be built by Astrum Ampang Sdn. Bhd. while PRIMA1 will act as the investor and partner.

PRIMA Corporation is an agency under Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) that has given high commitment to build more affordable houses for the Malaysian Family.

“From the whole project, one of the four phases of development will be specialised for PRIMA1 houses with the Gross Development Value (GDV) amounting RM180.80 million.

“This project will provide 712 affordable houses with Small Office Home Office (SOHO) and service apartment under PRIMA1 that will offer at the price of RM250, 000 and RM270, 000 with 450 sq.ft. and 550 sq.ft respectively.

“Besides offering affordable prices, buyers will also enjoy several facilities such as swimming pool, gymnasium, “surau”, badminton court and a playground. These are among the attractions for the young people to own these houses,” said Ismail.-Malaysia World News
