
KOTA TINGGI: An Indian national, named Sulaiman, 37, shop worker, and father of two, was sentenced to a year’s jail for possessing about 100 pictures and videos of child pornography on his mobile phone, The Star Online reported today. MW News does not want to reveal his full name.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of three years’ jail or fine or both.
The man claimed that the images were sent to him via WhatsApp.
Under sub-section 4 of section 376E, anyone found “guilty of an offense under this section shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.
Malaysia also applies Section 292 of the Penal Code and Section 5 of the Film Censorship Act to act against those with pornographic images and films respectively.
