79 Malaysians reported safe following protests in Kazakhstan

PUTRAJAYA JAN.8: Seventy-nine Malaysians registered with the Embassy located in the capital city of Nur-Sultan are reported to be safe following protests taking place in several regions in Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, the Ministry is closely monitoring the latest developments in the country and advises that all Malaysians living in the country are safe.

“The Malaysians include the diplomats and their dependents at the Embassy and at MATRTADE and Tourism Malaysia Offices in Almaty.

“The embassy has advised them to give utmost priority to their personal safety and security, avoid protest areas, and abide by instructions issued by the relevant local authorities,” said the Ministry in a statement here today.
