Forty MPs from BN had voiced their support for the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government, said Padang Rengas MP Nazri Aziz.
According to Astro Awani, Nazri confirmed
there was a meeting involving 40 BN MPs in Parliament last Thursday, in which all the 40 BN MPs expressed willingness to support Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.
“I confirm that the meeting between the 40 BN MPs really did take place. 40 BN MPs supported the decision to maintain the PN government including former prime minister Najib Razak, Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan and Machang MP Ahmad Jazlan,” Nazri said, as reported by the national media yesterday.
He added, there were only two BN MPs who did not want to support Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and they did not attend the meeting. They were Umno president and Bagan Datuk MP Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
However, he said, Former Prime Minister Najib Razak definitely supports the PN government, but wants Muhyiddin to step down.
Nazri said even Ahmad Jazlan who had previously withdrawn his support for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin in January, is now backing the PN government again.
