37,242 traffic summons settled in conjunction with MADANI Government One Year Anniversary Programme

KUALA LUMPUR: In conjunction with the MADANI Government One Year Anniversary Programme held at Bukit Jalil National Stadium since Friday, a total of 37,242 traffic summonses had been settled at counters specially set for the purpose.

Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Director, Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri said, 12,300 traffic offenders paid their summonses at 14 counters as well as via discount vouchers on the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM) MyBayar portal and application with the record of summons payment at 87.4 per cent (not including the summons paid at the counter).

“This campaign offers up to 50 per cent reduction for selected traffic summonses and it has received a very encouraging response,” he said in a statement today.
Mohd. Azman said, 39 personnel have been assigned and special counters for senior citizens and the handicapped have also been arranged.

“The counters start operating from 6am until 6pm but has been extended till 9pm to give way to the communities to pay their summons,” he said.

Meanwhile, he advised the public not to wait for the discount offer announcement to pay the outstanding summons and suggested they should abide with the regulations and traffic laws.

“The enforcement action will be implemented continuously to ensure the safety of all road users are guaranteed,” he said. –Malaysia World News
