KUALA LUMPUR: The Unity Government is committed to solve the effort to improve the salary structure of civil servants that will be implemented via the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) study.

Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said, this is despite the country’s challenging economic situation affected from the uncertainty of the global geopolitics.

“The government takes the stance and this responsibility by taking into account the cost of living pressures especially on the low income civil servants.

“Insya Allah the proposal for improvements including the effort to increase the rate of net income of the civil servants will be announced on the Labour Day Assembly.

“It is our hope that this will be a motivation to the civil servants to increase productivity and deliver the best services to the people,” Anwar said in his Facebook post, Friday.

Earlier Anwar said he had chaired the third Main Committee of the Public Service Remuneration System Study meeting to discuss in detail on the new salary structure of civil servants that will be decided in the Cabinet Ministers’ meeting.

As reported by the media on Jan. 20, the Public Service Department (PSD) had submitted the Interim Report 1 on the SSPA to the Prime Minister on Jan. 19.
