PUTRAJAYA AUG. 2: The Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) had detained 315 individuals for not complying with the Movement Control Order (MCO) on Aug.1 and from that three were remanded while 312 were compounded.
Security and Senior Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, amongst the non compliances committed included not adhering to the standard operating procedure (SOP) where 38 were involved, 150 were at the public places where social distancing was difficult to comply with and 127 did not put on their masks.
Regarding the mask, with effect from August 1, the government had made it compulsory for the people to wear masks when on public transports and in crowded and confined places to stop the transmission of COVID-19.
The Senior Minister said, 3,226 Compliance Teams involving 14,327 staffs had monitored 3,821 super markets, 5,545 restaurants, 1,954 traders, 1,326 factories, 3,602 banks and 820 government offices nationwide.
The monitoring works were conducted at 1,132 land transportation terminals, 138 water transportation terminals and 40 air transportation terminals.
Ismail added, on August 1, the Police had taken actions on 28 individuals who had failed to adhere to the home quarantine SOP that had been set by the government.
“The RMP had checked on 2,263 individuals that had to undergo the compulsory 14 days quarantine in their residences. The Police and the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) staffs are consistently checking and monitoring all those involved to ensure the SOP is adhered,” said Ismail in a statement here today.-Malaysia World News
