KUCHING — Sarawak announced it will open its borders for visiters and travellers, following the federal government’s decision to enter the transition to endemicity from April 1.

Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah said the transition to endemicity will allow people to try and come back to their normal life after two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, adding that foreigners will enter Sarawak with less restrictions..

“The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) is currently planning logistics and strategies to enable our borders to open up,” he said at an event today.

However, he said this ” does not mean that Covid-19 is no longer a threat… It is very important to always stay vigilant.”
