PUTRAJAYA MAY 25: The Royal Police of Malaysia (RPM) have issued 214 compounds at road blocks and to 14 others who have been identified to reach their home towns without permission in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration yesterday.

Security and Senior Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, 1,243 vehicles that have tried to cross the state borders (inter-state) with the reason to return to their “kampong” have been directed to return by the police.

However, Ismail said the numbers were lesser compared to 1,243 that were recorded the day before and the highest numbers were those going back to Selangor with 685 vehicles followed by Negeri Sembilan 133 and Pahang 72.

“Yesterday the police had detained 470 individuals of whom 87 were remanded while 23 were put on bail for not complying with the standard operating procedure (SOP) and 383 individuals had been compounded.

“The police had conducted 162 inter-state roadblocks with 127,552 vehicles had been checked,” Ismail said at the press conference held here today.

On the compliance of the SOP during Hari Raya celebration yesterday, Ismail said, it had been good as some houses had put up notice saying that they are not receiving visitors. – Malaysia World News
