KUALA LUMPUR: At least 22 more people die of Covid-19 and 375 others in ICU here in Malaysia today ( Friday, 7th May).
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham said the victims were aged between 37 and 87.
The 22 fatalities include six from Sarawak, three each from Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan, two deaths each in Johor and Perak, and one death each in Sabah, Kedah and Perlis.
Malaysia today also recorded 4,498 new cases today, the highest number ever.
Total number of deaths from the virus in the country reached 1,632.
Noor Hisham warns that the local hospitals are in a critical situation with the daily increasing number of patients, and urges the public to be responsible in complying to the SOP.
Today, Selangor reported the highest daily new cases of 1,424 cases (31.7 percent). Of this total, 1,165 cases (81.8 percent) are from clusters and close contact screening of positive COVID-19 cases were conducted in the field. This was followed by Sarawak as many as 750 cases (16.7 percent) and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur as much as 436 cases, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) . -Malaysia World News
