21,072 COVID-19 new cases, 3,040,235 cumulative totals, 20,986 in categories 1, 2- DG Dr. Noor Hisham


 

PUTRAJAYA FEB.13: COVID-19 infections have dropped to 21,072 as compared to yesterday bringing the cumulative total to 3,040,235 cases with 86 cases (0.41 per cent) in categories 3,4 and 5 while 20,986 in categories 1 and 2.

Director General of Health Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham said, 5,995 or 28.45 per cent are in category 1 followed by category 2 affecting 14,991 (71.14 per cent), 58 cases (0.28 per cent) in category 3, 20 cases (0.09 per cent) category 4 and 8 cases (0.04 per cent) category 5.

Dr. Noor Hisham added, COVID-19 in category 3 will cause lung infections, while in category 4 will have lung infections and require oxygen assistance and category 5 is critical and affecting the organs and require ventilators’ assistance.

“The COVID-19 infectivity rate in Malaysia as a whole is 1.49 based on the daily cases on 12th Feb. 2022 with Labuan recording 2.14 being the highest, Sabah 1.66, and Sarawak 1.67,” said Dr. Noor Hisham in his Facebook post here today.

He added, other states in the Peninsular namely Selangor has recorded 1.37 as the infectivity rate, Pulau Pinang 1.46, Johor 1.40,Kelantan 1.37, Melaka 1.28,Kuala Lumpur 1.22,Putrajaya 1.34,Negeri Sembilan 1.31, Kedah 1.35, Pahang 1.38, Perak 1.27, Terengganu 1.35 and Perlis 1.47.-Malaysia World News
