KUALA LUMPUR – The government has allocated RM20 million to set up the first national artificial intelligence (AI) study centre known as the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in University Technology Malaysia (UTM).
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said, the step is taken to strengthen the exploration of AI cross displinary knowledge field.
“Malaysia needs to move fast to lead the future thrust field in line with the transformation of global digital explosion.
“Innovation and digital talent needs to be empowered specifically in AI field to increase the national economic growth that is more sustainable,” he said when tabling the 2024 Budget at Dewan Rakyat here Friday. –Malaysia World News
