KUALA LUMPUR JAN.28: The government has decided to extend and standardise the time of business operations until 10pm effective 29th Jan.2021 for super markets and shops selling groceries, daily commodities, animal food, spectacles, dobby shops, pharmacies and others.

Senior and Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, before this the government had agreed to extend the business operations of food shops, restaurants, food trucks, roadside hawkers, food courts and food delivery services until 10pm after a risk analysis had been carried out by the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Ismail said, the standardization of the time is to enable the authorities to monitor and to implement enforcements.

“The special meeting yesterday had also agreed to allow the forestry sector and wood with its chains involving logging and others to convene operations as usual starting tomorrow,” Ismail said in a press conference held here today.
Regarding the non- compliance activities, Ismail added, 494 individuals had been detained for not adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOP) and from that 464 had been compounded, 29 were remanded and one on bail.

Among the offences committed relating to the SOP include not wearing mask (112), failing to provide equipments to record personal particulars/customer (67), inter-district/state without permission (62), no physical distancing (56) and others (197).

Ismail advised the people not to go out of the house unnecessarily to avoid the risk of COVID-19 infections. If it is necessary to go out, one should adhere to the basic SOP like physical distancing and always put on the face mask.
“The Royal Police Malaysia (RPM) will not compromise with any parties who are not adhering to the SOP. Actions will be taken to anybody whether in the town or village as the corona virus do not know about the status and place.

“Relating to inter-state travel, it is not permitted as the government do not want COVID-19 to be transmitted into the community. Before this, we had given a less stringent condition to travel across the states and the result was the formation of “Balik Kampung Cluster,” said Ismail. –Malaysia World News
