KUALA LUMPUR DEC 17: The Supply Bill 2021 that had been passed at the policy level in Dewan Rakyat recently was a proof that UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) were very transparent and sincere in “fighting” for the fate and interests of the people.

Senior and Defence Minister who is also the UMNO Vice-President and Member of Parliament for Bera, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, for such reasons UMNO/BN had rose up to ensure that several improvements were made in the Budget to make it people’s friendly.

“Even though there was an attempt to fail the budget through split voting, but the solidarity in the leadership of BN had made the budget being passed.

“When BN became the Opposition, all BN Members of Parliament (MPs) had supported the Budget of the government (Pakatan Harapan) because what was most important was to “fight” for the people’s fate,” said Ismail in a statement here today.

According to Ismail, BN is consistently placing the welfare, safety and prosperity of the people as a priority and more so when the country has been threatened by the COVID-19 pandemic and as such the Budget has to be supported to elevate the people’s standard of living especially the needy groups.

“This had been proven when BN emphasized sternly for the government to approve and make easy the withdrawal of the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) that was very much needed by the people as the EPF money could lessened their costs of living that had worsened due to COVID-19”, Ismail reiterated.

Ismail added, the BN’s struggle has never been off the track and will never change that is consistently prioritising the people and is in line with UMNO’s slogan “Unite, Loyal and Offer Services”. –Malaysia World News
