KUALA LUMPUR DEC 13: The implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) is entering its 271st day today while the Recovery MCO (RMCO) is on its 187th day and yet 655 individuals have been detained by the Royal Police Malaysia (RPM) for not complying with the MCO.
Senior and Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, from those detained, 587 individuals were compounded while 67 had been remanded and one person was on bail.
Ismail said, among the MCO non-compliance committed were activities in the entertainment centres (292), no physical distancing (179), not wearing face masks (99), not recording customers’ particulars (75) and others (10).
Meanwhile in the Op Benteng operations, 107 illegal immigrants had been detained by the integrated security forces involving the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) and the Malaysian Border Security Agency (MBSA).
“In the operations, two “masters” had been detained and six land vehicles were seized together with one boat. Yesterday (12th Dec) 127 road blocks had been carried out nationwide.
The road blocks were divided into Op PENAWAR (MAF, RPM and RELA) that conducted 56 road blocks, Op Benteng RPM (62) and Op Benteng MBSA (9),” said Ismail in a statement here today.
On the latest development, the government had lifted the Enhanced MCO (EMCO) affecting areas in two states namely Sabah and Perak.
Ismail said, the areas in Sabah include Kg. Numbak and Telipok Settlement, Kota Kinabalu with the EMCO being lifted on 13th Dec.2020.
According to Ismail, the EMCO in Perak will be lifted on 14th Dec.2020 as scheduled in areas involving Zon A, Taman Klebang Jaya and Tanah Pinji Mewah except the Hostel for Yamaha Factory Workers with EMCO being extended for seven days effective 15th Dec. until 21st Dec. 2020.
Besides that Ismail said, the implementation of Conditional MCO (CMCO) in the district of Kinta will be lifted on 14th Dec.2020 except in Ipoh Areas and Chemor in the Sub-District of Hulu Kinta with the CMCO being extended until 20th Dec.2020. – Malaysia World News
