COVID 19: No death, 649 new cases nationwide

PUTRAJAYA OCT 29: Malaysia has recorded 649 new COVID-19 cases todaybringing the cumulative total to 30,090 with 10,087 active cases that have been isolated and treated in the hospitals nationwide.

However today there is no death case recorded for the first time since the past two weeks. The death toll remains at 246 (0.8%) and the highest was 10 cases recorded on September 10 in Sabah.

Director General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said, today Sabah has 352 cases (54.2%) as the highest daily COVID-19 cases recorded followed by Klang Valley with 159 cases (24.5%).

“These two places are still under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and the new COVID-19 cases have contributed to 78.7% from the total number of today’s daily cases,” said Dr. Noor Hisham in his statement today.

Meanwhile, he said, 5.5% have been contributed by the prison clusters namely 34 cases from Tembok and two cases from the Remand Prison.

He added, from 649 new cases, seven were imported involving two citizens and five non- citizens and they include from Indonesia (5 cases), India (1) and Philippines (1).

Dr. Noor Hisham said, today 685 patients have been discharged, bringing the cumulative total to 19,757 (65.7%) while 106 have been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with 23 needed respiratory aids.

Regarding the new cases Sabah has recorded 352 with new clusters namely Sakti and Tuguson contributing 11 cases; Selangor (132) with six cases from Taman Laut and Bah Medan; Negeri Sembilan (43) with 16 cases from Taman Bayu followed by Kedah (37); Kuala Lumpur (21); Labuan (17); Penang (13); Johor (10); Sarawak (8); Perak (5); Pahang (1); Melaka (1); Terengganu (1) andPutrajaya (1). –Malaysia World News
