KUALA LUMPUR OCT.26: The Cabinet Ministers will discuss the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah’s opinion yesterday that there is no necessity for the state of emergency to be declared in the country or any part of the country.
The Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the Cabinet Ministers will discuss in greater details about the Istana Negara’s statement regarding Al-Sultan Abdullah’s opinion on the state of emergency is of no necessity at the moment.
“The priority of the Cabinet Ministers and the Government currently is to protect the people from COVID-19 infections.
“I highly appreciate the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s trust on the government that I lead and welcomed the advice so that the stability of the government is not being disturbed and threatened,” said Muhyiddin in a statement released here late evening (Oct.25).
Earlier in the afternoon, the Istana Negara issued a statement following the consent of Yang di-Pertuan Agong to study the application that had been presented by the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in an audience with His Majesty at the Istana Abdul Aziz, Kuantan,Pahang on October 23, 2020 (Friday).
The application is for the proclamation of emergency under Article 150 and proclamation Emergency (Essential Powers 2020) Ordinance pursuant to Article 150 (2B) of the Federal Constitution to combat the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic n the country.-Malaysia World News
