KUALA LUMPUR OCT 25: His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah said “there is no necessity to declare a state of emergency” in this country or any part of the country.
In a statement issued by Istana Negara today, Al-Sultan Abdullah said, he has the confidence in the government led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to continue implementing the policies and the enforcement actions to curb the transmissions of COVID-19 infections.
The statement issued by Comptroller of the Royal Household, Datuk Indera Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said, Al-Sultan Abdullah advises the politicians to immediately stop from all kinds of politicking that could disturb the stability of the current government.
“There is no necessity for the Members of Parliament to continue their irresponsible actions that could disturb the stability of the existing government,” said the statement.
After deliberating and consulting with the Malay Rulers as well as taking consideration the situation beleaguering the country, Al-Sultan Abdullah is of the view that the present government has managed to deal with the pandemic effectively.
The statement was issued following the consent of Yang di-Pertuan Agong to study the application that had been presented by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in an audience with His Majesty at the Istana Abdul Aziz, Kuantan,Pahang on October 23, 2020 (Friday).
The application is for the proclamation of emergency under Article 150 and proclamation Emergency (Essential Powers 2020) Ordinance pursuant to Article 150 (2B) of the Federal Constitution to combat the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic n the country.
The statement added, Al-Sultan Abdullah is in the opinion that the National Budget 2021 that will be tabled at the Parliamentary session is very important to the people in combating the COVID-19 infections and to recover the country’s economy. Therefore, the financial provisions are needed for the front liners to smoothly perform their work and responsibilities.
Al-Sultan Abdullah is very concern about the worries of the people following the sudden spike in several new clusters and daily new COVID-19 cases in the country.
“I am confident with the unity and high fighting spirit like how it had been demonstrated and shouldered together earlier, we are able to fight the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic,” Al-Sultan Abdullah reiterated.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong urges the people regardless of political background, differences or conflicts to be united and play the role to help the government and authorities to combat COVID-19 pandemic for the prosperity of the country. –Malaysia World News
