KUALA LUMPUR SEPT.29: The new state government of Sabah will be headed by Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Mohd. Noor from Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) who will swear as the Chief Minister of Sabah today.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin congratulated and thanked the Sabah State Assemblymen from Perikatan Nasional (PN) namely Barisan Nasional (BN) and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) who had nominated Hajiji to be the new Chief Minister of Sabah.
“The agreement had proven the parties under the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) had cooperated closely throughout the Sabah State Election to gain the strong support from the people.
“I appreciate the friendship’s loyalty spirit that had been shown by the parties in GRS for the interest and the future of the people in Sabah.
“I will pray for Sabah to remain as a peaceful and prosperous state,” said Muhyiddin in a statement here today (Monday).
In the 16th Sabah State Assembly Election held recently Hajiji defeated the Warisan’s candidate and Parti Cinta Sabah. Hajiji was the incumbent state assemblyman for Sulaman and also the Chairman of Sabah PN.
In the election held on Saturday, GRS had garnered 38 out of 73 seats to enable it to form a new state government.–Malaysia World News
