KUALA LUMPUR: Senior Minister and Minister of Internationl Trade and Industry. Datuk Seri Azmin Ali with nine Members of Parliament joined the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (Bersatu) led by its President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who is also the Prime Minster of Malaysia.
Among the nine MPs who joined Bersatu yesterday (Aug.22) were Zuraida Kamaruddin (Ampang); Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah (Indera Mahkota); Datuk Kamaruddin Jaffar (Bandar Tun Razak); Datuk Mansor Othman (Nibong Tebal), Datuk Seri Rashid Hasnon (Batu Pahat), Ali Biju (Saratok) and Willie Mongin (Puncak Borneo).
Azmin made the announcement in front of Muhyiddin and 5,000 representatives (delegates) at the National Congress 2020 with the theme United for Malaysia here on Saturday (Aug.22).
Also joining Azmin were the senior leaderships of the National Community Movers, Nation of Women (NOW). National Youth and National Young Women.
In his speech Azmin said: “I express my sincerity on this special Saturday afternoon that my team and I from Perlis to Sabah whether from the National Community Movers; Nation of Women (NOW); National Youth and National Young Women officially declare to join Bersatu and support the leadership of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the Prime Minister.”
Azmin and his team had also received the membership cards from Bersatu President, Muhyiddin and that acknowledged their memberships had been accepted with immediate effect.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister in his speech said the special event not only has recorded as an important history for him but also for Bersatu that he leads today and also to the Perikatan Nasional Government when Azmin announced officially to be a member of Bersatu.
“Thank you and congratulations to Azmin and his friends/team that have expressed their determination to join a political movement, Bersatu that is important in our country,” said Muhyiddin. –Malaysia World News
