PUTRAJAYA MAY 11: Several new clusters of positive COVID-19 surfaced recently after the employers made all workers undergo swab tests before resuming their work under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) that started May 5.
Security Senior Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the 12 foreign workers at a building site in Setia Alam were detected positive COVID-19 after they have done their swab tests.
However he said the chicken factory in Pedas, Negeri Sembilan was closed not because the employer did not follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) but the COVID-19 was “brought” in by a staff that came to the office to take the salary.
Ismail said, the factory has been operating since Movement Control Order (MCO) was imposed on 18 March.
“The places where workers have been detected with positive COVID-19 have been closed. The government has directed the building site in Ampang and Setia Alam to be closed as well as the chicken factory in Pedas and the mall in Cheras.” Ismail said in his daily press conference here today.
Ismail was responding to a question of why many new clusters of COVID-19 surfaced during the CMCO.
