Police investigating on Rohingya issues, says Security Senior Minister

PUTRAJAYA APRIL 27: The Royal Police of Malaysia (RPM) is investigating on issues concerning the Rohingyas in the country that have been debated massively on the social media, apart from videos and audios being shared among the people.

Security Senior Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the police is investigating on the validity of some news, videos and audios.

Ismail said, Rohingya issues have suddenly been highlighted during the enforcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO). Before this, it was not an issue.

The Senior Minister hopes the people will remain calm as issues brought up may raise unnecessary tensions.

“Malaysia and the people is well known to have high humanitarian values and we should uphold to it,” said Ismail in a press conference on the daily report of MCO here today.

In another development, the government has decided to lift the Enhanced MCO that was imposed in Kampung Dato’ Ibrahim Majid and Bandar Baru Dato’ Ibrahim Majid at Simpang Renggam, Johor on April 28.

According to Ismail, the EMCO that was imposed on a tahfiz school and a house in Sungai Lui, Hulu Langat, Selangor is extended to another week till May 5.

 Since the enforcement of MCO on March 18, the national blood supply has dropped to 33%.

In view of that Ismail said, the National Blood Centre’s application to resume business apart from the movement of blood donors to the health clinic and hospital has been approved by the government in its meeting early this morning.

The blood donation session in the hospitals and health clinics starts from 10am till 10pm.
