PUTRAJAYA – Malaysia’s government has announced today its decision to extend the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in the North Central Town, (Pusat Bandar Utara) Kuala Lumpur and the areas around Pasar Borong Kuala Lumpur (Selayang) from April 20 until May 3 as COVID-19 cases continue to increase.
The continuous increase of the novel coronavirus cases in these red zones obliged the government to extend the EMCO until the virus is sufficiently contained.
Eight parcels have been detected with COVID-19 in the affected areas, including Jalan 6/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur; Jalan 6/3A and 9/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur; Jalan 2/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur; Jalan 2/3A, Pusat Bandar Utara, Kuala Lumpur; Taman Sri Murni Fasa 2, Jalan 1/2D, Kuala Lumpur; Taman Sri Murni , Fasa 1, Jalan 1/2D, Kuala Lumpur; Taman Sri Murni Fasa 3, Jalan 1/2B, Kuala Lumpur and Taman Batu View and Taman Batu Hampar, Kuala Lumpur.
Minister of Defence and Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, throughout the enforcement of EMCO, the Ministry of Health will implement the tracing activities among the people living in the areas affected.
“The people in the affected areas are urged to be patient, stay calm and give the fullest cooperation to the health officers and comply with all the authorities’ directives,” he said in a press conference here today.
