The United States death toll from the novel coronavirus has hit 10,000 on Monday (March 6), according to Johns Hopkins University statistics.
The US is the world`s third-highest number of registered deaths from the pandemic, after Italy which reported 15,887 deaths and Spain 13,055 as of Monday.
White House medical experts have forecast that up to 240,000 Americans could die as a result of COVID-19 even if sweeping orders to stay home are followed.
