KUALA LUMPUR: The Enhanced Control Movement Order (ECMO) has been imposed on 3,200 people living in 502 unit condominiums in Menara City One
Jalan Munshi Abdullah here effective March 31, 2020.

The government has decided to impose EMCO in the condominium complex after 17 positive COVID-19 cases were reported.

Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the government has made the decision to impose EMCO in that area following the number of people infected with COVID-19.

The condominium complex was the third place to be under EMCO after Simpang Renggam, Johor and Sungai Lui in Hulu Langat Selangor had it since two days ago.

“The EMCO will be effective from Mar.31 until April 13 with the aim to curb the COVID-19 infection from spreading elsewhere.

“The enforcement of EMCO was to enable the health officers to detect COVID-19 infections in the condominium complex throughout the 14 days.

“With EMCO, the occupants of the condominium are not permitted to go out and visitors are not allowed to enter,” said Ismail who is also a Senior Minister (Security Cluster) in a statement here on Monday.

He added, all business activities will be put to a halt except premises selling
essential products in the complex.
Throughout the 14 days the condominium complex will be guarded by the Royal Police of Malaysia (RPM), Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), People’s
Volunteer Corps (RELA) and Civil Defence Forces (CDF).

Meanwhile, a medical base will be opened when all the roads to the building have been closed.

However, the occupants could place their food order that will be sent to the lobby of the security main door to the condominium complex. –Malaysia World
