KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia`s new Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz is so excited to start his work today though he knows the challenges waiting for him there.
The Former Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Group said he is aware that his new role is not easy and he will do his best to address the economic challenges facing the country.
“I am not a politician, (but) I will do my best.
“We know that it is a very challenging time now,” he told reporters when met at the Parliament today.
Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said he will be getting a briefing from Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir in Putrajaya in order to have a better picture of the country’s economic conditions.
“I think what we need to do now is to focus on the current challenges,” he said.
Tengku Zafrul and other new Cabinet ministers had been sworn in at Istana Melawati yesterday (March 10).
