KUALA LUMPUR: The leadership of Democratic Action Party (DAP) wants Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohamad to remain as the Prime Minister of Malaysia as they claimed that he (Mahathir) is unable to work with UMNO in the new coalition.
DAP’s General Secretary, Lim Guan eng said, in his meeting with Dr. Mahathir this morning, the 7th prime minister has decided to resign from his post as he had worked hard to ousted UMNO in the General Election in 2018, thus could not work with the party.
“I was surprised by Tun Mahathir’s intention to resign (morning) merely to uphold the integrity to combat bribery and cleptocracy that has made Malaysia reknown globally,” he said in a press conference at DAP office here today.
[17:12, 2/24/2020] Nor: He added, the move to maintain Tun Mahathir as the prime minister will be discussed in Pakatan Harapan (PH) meeting this evening.

Meanwhile, he said DAP condemns the move made by Datuk Seri Azmin Ali from PKR to form a back door government by joining UMNO, PAS, MIC, MCA, and others. – Malaysia World News
Previously it was reported that DAP was one of the parties in PH that suggested Dr. Mahathir hand over his post to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of PKR to be the eighth Prime Minister of Malaysia.
