PUTRAJAYA: Anwar Ibrahim has to be patient and wait for Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to set a date for handing over the post of prime minister to him.

“I myself suggested that Tun Dr Mahathir be given the space to administer and when the time comes (for the handover), he will fix a suitable date.

“In the meantime I have to be patient,” he said at the press conference after the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Presidential Council meeting that took place last night here.

The Prime Minister Dr Mahathir who chaired the meeting said that he would hand over power only after the Apec (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Summit, in November, adding that it’ s up to him when he would set a date for transition or when he would step down.

“I’ve already said, after the Apec (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Summit (in November).

“No time … no date … nothing. It’s up to me to determine the date,”

“The position (of the 8th Prime Minister)  is for me to make the decision after Apec,” he told reporters at the press conference.
