KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor arrived today to the high court for her corruption trial accompanied by an ambulance and a medical team, besides several lawyers and friends.
Rosmah is reportedly suffering from severe neck and back aches.
Her lawyer said she is suffering from a life threatening illness.
This is her first trial involving alleged bribes scandal.
Rosmah is facing three charges of accepting millions of ringgit in bribes in exchange for helping a company to secure a contract for an integrated project for solar photovoltaic hybrid system and for the operation and maintenance of generators for 369 rural schools in Sarawak.
The contract worths RM1.25 billion and it was from the Education Ministry through direct negotiations.
On Monday, Rosmah had failed to appear in Court, saying that she was very sick.
The judge however ordered her to attend the court trial even on a wheelchair.
