To be qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokyo (2020) has been my dream since I was 8 years old and to see it become a reality is an indescribable feeling, the Malaysian artistic gymnast Farah Ann Hadi said on her Facebook yesterday.

Farah, 25, has qualified for next year’s Tokyo Olympics after having made the cut by virtue of finishing 16th out of 20 qualifiers in the qualifying session based on her individual all-around result at the World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany on Saturday (Oct 5), according to the Star.

Farah who will be the first Malaysian woman gymnast to feature in the Olympics expresses gratitude to her coach, teammates, and family for her achievements.

“I am incredibly thankful and grateful to so many people in my journey to get to this moment.

“To my coaches Ms. Nataliya and Ng Shu wai. You have pushed me, guided me and believed in me and my dreams. There are no words to describe how thankful I am for you.

“To my amazing teammates, Ing yueh ,Tracie, Ena, Azira, Siti , Rachel, Geanie and Imaan. You are the most amazing friends, teammates, and sisters. Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me.
