Malaysia Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has had a bilateral meeting with his counterpart Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in Russia today.
After the meeting, Modi tweeted in Bahasa Malaysia: “Telah mengadakan pertemuan yang baik dengan Tun. Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Perdana Menteri Malaysia. Kami berbincang mengenai hubungan dua hala antara negara kami dan cara mempelbagaikan kerjasama.”
In English, Modi said he had a great meeting with Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and they both discussed ways to further boost ties and cooperation.
Dr Mahathir and Modi are currently attending the 2019 Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, Russia.
Dr Mahathir is also meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Star reported, Malaysian ambassador to Russia, Datuk Mat Dris Yaacob, said the visit would enhance the diplomatic ties and spur bilateral trade between the two countries.
The prime minister is accompanied by Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, Foreign Affairs Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah and International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Darell Leiking.
