KUALA LUMPUR: Home Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin directed the authorities to take action on any acts or statements that have negative impacts on issues related to race, religion, and the royalty (3R).
He said, stern actions should be taken against anyone whose statements can affect the security and the stability of the country.
“I have directed the police to pay attention and take note of any sensitive issues raised by anyone including religious figures,”Muhyiddin said in his speech at the second session of “Bicara Kemerdekaan” organised by Akademi Harimau Asia here today (Saturday).
Muhyiddin also said, there were twice as many reports filed with the authorities on issues relating to 3R compared to last year.
Muhyiddin reminded the people that every ethnic group and community had contributed to the country. Various ethnic groups and religions had supported the country’s struggle from the beginning until today.
Muhyiddin said, any dissatisfaction should not lead to a dispute over matters that had been agreed upon.
The minister added, the matters include language, religion, the rights of Bumiputera and other races, the royal institution, Islam as the religion of the Federation and the right of others to practice their religions.
‘It has been practiced over 60 years and is enshrined in the Malaysian Constitution,” Muhyiddin said.- Agency/Malaysia World News
