KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 15 — PAS President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has vowed today that the Islamist party (Pas) members will not allow the deportation of the fugitive Muslim preacher Dr Zakir Naik to India, the Malay Mail reports.
He was quoted as saying that the Prime Minister cannot decide alone on Zakir`s deportation or stay, because more than a million of Pas members support Zakir as a Muslim brother and preacher.
Hadi also called the move of those Cabinet ministers who called for Dr Zakir’s deportation as a form of “racism and hatred” towards the Muslim preacher.
“Do not oppose the red light, because the right of Muslim brotherhood comes before citizenship, and crosses the borders of countries and nations. That is the fact, not an incitement,” he was quoted as saying in a statement.
Hadi also added that Muslims are obliged to defend and protect their Muslim Preachers, and he slammed those fellow Muslims who he claimed are blind towards Quranic teachings.
