SEREMBAN: An Irish teenager (pic) has disappeared in Malaysia while she was on holiday with her parents at the Dusun resort in Seremban this week.
Police believe she might be stuck somewhere in the jungle near the resort; hundreds of Police and searchers with dogs and drones are searching the area.
Nora Anne Quoirin, 15, has been missing since Sunday. Her family believes she was kidnapped. However, the police could not confirm that yet.
“Our forensics team has gone through the entire building, and the investigation process is still ongoing,“ Negri Sembilan deputy police chief SAC Che Zakaria Othman told a news conference.
More than 200 people are searching the area, assisted by canine units, police said, with a checkpoint also set up on the road to the resort, according to the police.
According to Reuters, Che Zakaria said officials still believed she was somewhere in the area (jungle) around the resort, in the absence of evidence to the contrary.
Quoirin, who has a learning disability, could not have gone far.
“We still have hope of finding her, “he said.
So far, at least 20 people have been questioned as part of the search and rescue (SAR) mission, according to the Sun Daily.
