PETALING JAYA: The Sultan of Johor and the palace must stop interfering with the affairs of Johor state government, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
“We must be bold enough. The Sultan also has to agree that certain things have been done by him that created some feelings of uneasiness when it comes to matters of state.
“That has to stop. It is not that he cannot interfere in the management of the state, but interfering in the running of the governance of the state must not be continued.
“It is not personal. I suggest Johor Mentri Besar (Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal) and the state government discuss with him as to what needs to be done and what needs to be cleared so that once and for all, we work as Malaysians and things can be settled.”
Muhyiddin was quoted as saying by the Star Online when he was talking to the media today after chairing a Bersatu central committee meeting here Thursday (April 25) to discuss amendments to the party constitution.
His statement came while Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar warns that certain groups should stop meddling in matters of the state.
On April 10, the Sultan of Johor said, “on matters concerning Johor, don’t be a busybody in meddling into the state affairs, as this sovereign state still has a Sultan.”
