Johor: Bersatu leader, Osman Sapian has officially submitted his resignation letter as Johor menteri besar to Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar this morning.
Sultan Ibrahim did not even look at the resignation letter, Osman told reporters after his first audience with the ruler at Istana Pasir Pelangi this morning.
“I submitted my resignation letter to the sultan. His Highness did not even look at it and considers the letter as a souvenir.
“The sultan also set a condition for the incoming menteri besar, which is to revamp the state executive council,” he was quoted by local media as saying.
Quizzed on the reason for resigning, he replied: “I think it is already known. No need for me to elaborate.”
His majesty Sultan Ibrahim has just come back from overseas to Malaysia. A statement posted yesterday on his Facebook revealed that he was in Bahrain, meeting the King of Bahrain, King Hamad Isa Salman al-Khalifa.
In conjunction with the visit, Sultan Ibrahim was wearing traditional Arabian clothes in honor of the King of Bahrain.
At the meeting, King Hamad was pleased to receive Sultan Ibrahim’s invitation to visit Johor with his delegation for investment purposes, the statement said.
