Immediately after its shocking defeat in the Semenyih state by-election yesterday, Pakatan Harapan (PH) Leaders started to blame themselves and others.
Some of them say this defeat is an awakening alarm for the new government (PH) to realise its weaknesses and work hard for its people.
Some PH Leaders such as Dr. Wan Azizah and Azmin Ali have admitted that PH had to tackle and address issues to ensure people would continue supporting them.
The Pakatan Youth chief, Syed Saddiq was also quoted today saying that the defeat in the by-election should not cause the coalition to point fingers or put the blame on others, instead PH leaders have to improve themselves, including himself.
“This is not the time to blame anyone, we all need self-reflection, as everyone has a role to play. We need to improve, including myself, Armada (youth wing of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia) and Harapan Youth. I think it’s back to the drawing board.
“We need to look and move forward. We need to work as usual. We congratulate Barisan Nasional and thank the Pakatan Harapan Youth machinery who were active during the by-election,” he said.
The Minister of of Youth and Sports, Syed Saddiq also accepts the defeat of Pakatan candidate Muhammad Aiman Zainali and respects the people’s choice.
“Pakatan needs self-reflection and to continue going forward, apart from respecting the people’s choice. To the people of Semenyih, I would like to apologise if I have made any mistakes,” he said.
