Kuala Lumpur: Nooryana Najib today appeals for the public to support her father the and former premier Najib Abdul Razak whose first trial is scheduled tomorrow before the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
“Please stand by him in what will be the biggest test of his life.
“You are his source of strength and determination. It will be your kind thoughts, encouraging words and heartfelt prayers that will help him.
“Every second he spends alone in the accused dock, he will be thinking of his family, friends, supporters and the people that he so deeply cares for,” she posted on Instagram along with an old image of Najib shaking hands with a crowd of people.
On the same post Nooryana also said that her father Najib told her he would fight in court and nothing would befall him, his family and his supporters.
“Remember Prophet Muhammad still carried on with his struggle even with only a handful of followers. I know it will be painful. But I want to be there for the people,” she quoted him saying.
Nooryana is Najib’s eldest child from his marriage to Rosmah Mansor.
Najib is facing 42 charges, including money laundering, criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and corruption, and tomorrow is his first trial at Kuala Lumpur High Court.
